Student Parking Permits

Any student bringing a vehicle to campus must register for a permit and provide valid vehicle information that will include make, model, color, license plate number, and state. Student permits will automatically be charged to their Bursar Account. Permits are required at all hours on weekdays, day and night, to promote campus safety. Students are required to keep accurate and updated license plate information at all times.

**Married students registered with LSU Residential Life are eligible for one additional resident spouse permit. Students must visit our main office to obtain this additional permit. Vehicle information will be required.**

NOTE: The total cost of the permit is prorated based off the month of purchase. Please use the prorated rate fee above to determine the price of your permit purchase.

i.e. If a student purchases a commuter/residential permit in December, the total cost of the permit is $137.

Student Permit Types

Permit	Description
West Campus Resident (WCR)	Available to students living on campus in a residence hall or apartment on the west side of campus.
East Campus Resident (ECR)	Available to students living on campus in a residence hall or apartment on the east side of campus.
Nicholson Gateway Resident (NGW)	Available to students living on campus in the Nicholson Gateway Apartments.
Greek Resident	Available to students living in Greek Housing.
Union Square Garage	Available to students on a first come, first sale basis. Permits for the Union Square Garage are specific to floors 3-6 of the garage and all other parking will be restricted during the hours of zone parking. Limited availability, while supplies last.

Permit	Description
Commuter	Available to students living off-campus and travel back and forth to campus on a daily basis for academic and extracurricular needs.
Park & Geaux (Virtual Permit)	Available to all students. This plan is for individuals who would like an affordable parking option and still have access to campus. The Park & Geaux program will allow permit holders to park in a remote lot on Skip Bertman Drive and utilize the transit service to access the interior of campus via a Tiger Trails shuttle every 15 minutes, Monday through Friday, 7 am. to 6 pm. Permit type only allowed in Park & Geaux Lot.
Union Square Garage	Available to students on a first come, first sale basis. Permits for the Union Square Garage are specific to floors 3-6 of the garage and all other parking will be restricted during the hours of zone parking. Limited availability, while supplies last.
Law School	Available to students enrolled with the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Limited availability, while supplies last.

Permit	Description
University High	Available to students enrolled with the University Lab School.
Motorcycle (Virtual Permit)	Available to students who drive a motorcycle or moped to campus. Students must visit our main office to register for this virtual permit. This virtual permit type is not eligible for a pro-rated rate.

Permit Decal Information

Student's who register for a permit will receive a parking decal. Parking decals are "window clings" rather than stickers that can be transferred between registered vehicles at the student's ease. Decals are to be placed on lower right windshield (passenger's side).

Virtual Permits

Parking and Transportation Services has transitioned to a fully virtual permit system for select permit types. Physical permits for these selected types will no longer be issued or required for display, as each permit is now electronically linked to the vehicle’s license plate number. Enforcement is conducted using License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology, which scans license plates to verify valid parking. To avoid citations, it is essential that all vehicle information—especially license plate numbers—is kept current in the Parking Portal.

Refund Policy

Any student that wishes to obtain a refund for their current permit must submit an official request to the Parking and Transportation Services department at parking@lsu.edu.

If your request is approved, you may return the permit to our office through the mail at 131 Public Safety Building S. Stadium Drive Baton Rouge, LA 70803, or visit the Parking & Transportation Services main office at 310 LSU Student Union, Room 109, Baton Rouge, LA 70803 and exchange your permit in person.

Once the permit is received, we will process your refund request.

Refunds will be granted based on the following circumstances:

Fall graduates only
No longer enrolled in the University due to (transfer, failure to maintain academic status, expulsion)
Military Orders (Documentation required)
Spring Study Abroad (Documentation required)

Please Note: The permit must be received by our department prior to the refund being processed. After 14 days, the refund amount will be transferred to the student’s billing statement by the Bursar’s Office. E-mail parking@lsu.edu with any extenuating circumstances if a refund has not been processed within the aforementioned time.
