Accessibility Parking

In order to park in authorized ADA/Handicap spaces on campus, students or employees with valid state-handicapped placards are required to register with the LSU Parking & Transportation Services Offices. Individuals must complete the ADA Registration Form or bring a copy of their handicapped identification card, driver’s license, and Mobility ID/paperwork in for verification.

Handicap ADA Permit

To gain access to authorized ADA/Handicap spaces on campus, students and employees must register their state-issued handicapped placard with LSU Parking & Transportation Services (PTS). Registration requires completion of the ADA Registration Form.

Students and employees who register valid ADA credentials with the Parking Office will be eligible for an ADA Permit, which grants access to all ADA-designated spaces across campus, as well as B, A/Commuter, Park & Geaux, and X lots. The validity of the ADA Permit is directly tied to the expiration date of the ADA placard. If the placard expires prior to the permit’s expiration date of August 14, 2026, parking privileges will be suspended until updated ADA credentials are provided to the Parking Office. Individuals who do not intend to renew their ADA credentials are responsible for visiting the Parking Office to exchange their ADA Permit for a permit appropriate to their classification.

ADA Permit holders will be required to purchase a gate device for $30 (deposit). This card will grant the permit holder access to ADA spaces within the Core of Campus.

*Please Note: Possession of an ADA Permit alone does not authorize parking in accessible spaces; the vehicle must also display a valid ADA placard issued by the state.

Paratransit
