July 2012: UNU-EHS/MRF Summer Academy 2012 United Nations University-Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) and the Munich Re Foundation hosted the 2012 Summer Academy “From Social Vulnerability to Resilience: Measuring Progress toward Disaster Risk Reduction”. May 2012: Building a Resilient Louisiana, Hazard-Resistant Design and Construction Workshop This workshop brought together planners, architects, engineers, builders and other stakeholders to discuss recommended coastal construction practices and to explore the unique challenges of designing and building in coastal Louisiana. The forum targeted primarily practitioners to better understand the needs each party faces in the planning-design-construction process and how disciplines can work more collaboratively toward a common solution.
